neochart — Legal Document Library is a free reference library of primary legal documents — U.S. case law, the U.S. Code, Texas statutes, and the U.S. Constitution. It reproduces the text of public-domain and official sources so they can be searched and cross-referenced. It is an informational index, not a legal service.

Sources

All source material is public domain or an official government publication.

• Case law — Caselaw Access Project (Harvard Law School), public-domain U.S. court opinions.
• U.S. Code — govinfo.gov (U.S. Government Publishing Office).
• Texas statutes — the Texas Legislature's official published statutes.
• U.S. Constitution — the National Archives.

Method

The ~1.3 million case-law pages are ingested deterministically, with no large language model: citations and the citation graph are extracted by exact, rule-based parsing. There is no summarization, interpretation, or editorial commentary — pages present the source text and its citations as-is.

One caveat: for statutes, the chapter/section taxonomy (how sections are organized in the browse tree) was derived with LLM assistance. The statute text itself is verbatim from the authoritative source and is not model-generated.

neochart is the corpus side of the law firewall doctrine: render structure, refuse interpretation, cite, abstain, and hand off to official sources and human legal review.

As of / currency

The corpus reflects each source as of the time it was ingested and is not continuously updated. Law changes; always confirm the current text at the official source before relying on it.
